A former Premier League striker shared a series of images of himself and his son alongside Cristiano Ronaldo following a recent trip to Saudi Arabia.

Otavio's opener after just one minute at the Al-Awwal Stadium marked Ronaldo's 54th goal involvement in all competitions this season.

'When my son @tiagomutu turned 7, I promised him, if he’s a good boy that I’ll take him to meet the world superstar legend @cristiano, today the dream came true.

A failed move to Juventus followed, but the Romanian returned to his mercurial best shortly after at Fiorentina, netting 70 times in 143 appearances for the Viola.

A brief stint at Cesena was followed by spells in France, India and his native Romania before Mutu hung up his boots aged 37 in 2016 as his country's joint-record goalscorer at international level.
